We are a platform that allows filmmakers and designers - emerging or professional-, to show their work and creations, delving in to the reasons of this new film genre and the way that it presents a unique aesthetic and narrative language, result of the evolution and fusion between movie and fashion. We search that professionals and experts of the industry may show the creative talent, in both local and international levels, in an instance that encourages and promotes awareness regarding consumerism and fashion production, emphasizing on the social and environmental realities related to the industry, and the way that the same industry proposes to develop.
In this first version, the International Competition of Fashion Film, aspires to recognize and reward the best films selected by a specialized jury from the world of cinema, design, music and fashion. There will also be talks, conversation panels, exhibitions, performances and the screening of documentaries and movies that are emblematic to this new genre.
The Centre Gabriela Mistral, GAM, is a cultural centre devoted to disseminate and promote performing arts and music. Among many other activities, it offers contemporary drama and dance, as well as classic and popular music a space to continuous development and experimentation.
Furthermore, with an emphasis on contemporary photography and popular arts, the GAM houses a range for visual arts. Due to its high demands for transparency, variety and quality, it is orientated to generate direct encounters between artists and diverse audiences.
